Get most of your Symbian device [Part 8] : Change Cache Directory From C to F / E
Always trying to free up some space on the C drive and keep reading about clearing the cache and deleting it from the C drive? Here's the solution !
Your phone must be hacked and open4all patch applied and of course a strong file manager to copy/edit files and change attributes.
Let's start then :
1- Delete everything from C:\system\cache except for the vss folder
2- Copy cache folder : C:\system\cache (including the vss folder) to E:\system so you'll get E:\system\cache
3- Set the attributes of the cache and vss folders in E to "hidden" and "system"
4- Copy Z:\private\10202be9\101f8557.txt to your memory card, and then to your computer.
5- Open 101f8557.txt on your computer and rename every instance of c:\\system\\cache to e:\\system\\cache. (generally : 0x3, 0x4 and 0x8 strings)
6- Put the modified 101f8557.txt to C:\private\10202be9 and change its attribute to "read only"
7- Restart your phone.
