Ovi Store 2.8 to bring applications update notifications, almost !

Posted on 11:24 by SlipKoRnSaad

publish.ovi announced that with the 2.8 version, when the user launches the Store client and signs in, the client automatically checks if any of their downloaded apps have an update available. If there are updates, the user will see a green flag in the corner of your screen by your “Account” tab. Touching the flag will take the user to his account page where he can choose to update “All” or select individual apps.

This is one of the most requested features for Ovi Store but still not as integrated as Maemo5, IOS or Android for example...we still have to check for an update manually !

Nokia (Symbian Team) you've to understand one thing : it's not the user task to search the update but it's the appstore task to notify the user about it without forcing him to enter the appstore and then check...

We need some maemo logic here please !
